Charlotte McMurray

I'm a generalist digital marketer with over 10 years' experience, specialising in digital strategy, search, content and analytics.

I started my digital marketing career over ten years ago whilst at university - I was a general marketing bod for a small ecommerce company, and while the job wasn't the most glamorous it taught me lots about what could be achieved with a very small budget and a bit of creativity!

After a few years of in-house digital marketing roles, I moved agency side and worked my way up from the factory floor to become Digital Director of one of the North East's largest digital marketing agencies, managing a team of 30 marketers and picking up a few awards along the way, including a listing in The Drum's 50 Under 30 Women in Digital.

I'm a creative sort and always a fan of big ideas and ambitious projects. I enjoy getting the opportunity to play to my more strategic side planning multi-channel campaigns, but I'm not all about the big picture and also love getting absorbed in technical projects or copywriting when the mood takes me.

Outside of work, I'm most often found dog walking on the gorgeous North Sea coast, or tending whichever of my serial hobbies has caught my attention at the time!

Gemma Neesham

I’m an experienced SEO professional with over 8 years’ experience in the digital industry.

I’ve worked in some great agencies both in Manchester and Newcastle, heading up a large SEO department, and have worked with some wonderful clients from Warner Bros. to Berghaus and Danone, developing and implementing exciting campaigns both on a local and international level.

I’m passionate about digital marketing, and love working with great companies, big and small to develop and implement campaigns that make an impact, both on their valuable audience and ultimately their business goals. I look at the big picture to understand what the digital needs are and work with them to identify the goals and the strategy that will get them where they need to be. Every campaign has its own challenges and objectives which is why I love working in this industry so much, developing bespoke strategies that generate the results needed. It’s win win for me, knowing that the right strategy means a successful campaign and lots of job satisfaction!

My area of expertise lies in SEO, although I’m also well versed in various web programming languages, CMS platforms and am PRINCE 2 qualified.

Outside of the digital world I enjoy getting away from my laptop and walking in the great outdoors, especially when the north east has such great places to visit and an amazing landscape to take advantage of. It’s a great way of feeling refreshed ready for the new week to start.
